History of BHS

Beginning its opportunities in 1928, British Home Stores (BHS) has been a household name on the high street for many years, marketing a wide array of goods, including clothes, gadgets and home ware. Several shops have full restaurants and bars in store, as the brand was one of the first to aim for the current pattern of making a retail store a place to meet and relax, along with shopping.

While in the 1970s and 80s, BHS took a leap forward, putting its shops at the freshly-created indoor department stores that have been expanding at the time, such as the Lakeside Shopping Centre and the Mall at Bexleyheath. Between 1989 and 1977, BHS diversified into hypermarkets producing SavaCentre shops in partnership with Sainsbury's. 1980 onwards was 10 years of combined fortunes for the brand, with the closing of its only store in Dublin, Ireland, and the beginning of several offshore franchises that started in Gibraltar.

In 2016 BHS UK went bankrupt and all the UK high street stores closed, however the website was relaunched in September 2016 under "BHS.com" rather than the old .co.uk, and the rights were purchased by Al Mana Group. The website BHS.com or trading as The British Home Store, is ready to take and ship orders. Why not get a 10% off promotional launch offer while it lasts on their new website? As the BHS story progresses, Voucher Slug will be sure to let you know by editing this page.
